1975 1500 triumph spitfire and webber carbs?
anyone fitted webber carbs to a 1500 spit - any problems or modifications involved?
Answers:
Depends what kind of Weber (that's the correct spelling) carb you're conversation about. A Weber DGV-type carb is deeply maintenance free once it's tuned correctly, and it is available beside vacuum takeoff for your distributor and any an autochoke or manual depending on what you enjoy in your coup¨¦. A DCOE-style sidedraft usually doesn't have provision for vacuum mortgage, so you'll need to move to a full power-driven advance distributor. You're probably better sour rebuilding your SUs.
I agree with Adam B and would purely add that apart from some intresting intake roar, unless you hold done or are considering doing some extensive engine mods, fitting weber carbs ie a pair of DCOE's is a squander of time, and money.
i have recntly replaced my sidedrafts to a bright 2brl weber carb and new intake also updated my distributor.no problems what so ever. i would not stir back to the side drafts i you compensated upgrade and you'll be glad you did.
