Do American TVs work within the UK i know that i stipulation a voltage converter but do the channel work?
Answers:
No.
You need a PAL TV contained by the UK. America is NTSC. You can get converters but deeply pricey, also you can get TVs that do both.
No, they don't work. It's a different broadcast signal; and you also call for to buy a television license within the UK. And if you think you'll draw from away without one -- trust me -- they'll bust you if you don't.
Unless you've bought a multistandard TV from the US - it's a big NO!!
Channels work? Kinda confused. I lived within the UK for two years and my TV worked fine. The inputs are mostly the same. The use SCART instead of RCA, but you can attain kits for that. My SKY (digital cable) Box have a coaxial cable input/output and it worked just close to it did in the States. Have fun!
The system for television in the UK are totally different from you surrounded by America we use Pal and I believe you use NTSC, so the answer is that it will not work in the UK
The TV will not work surrounded by the UK. Even with the converter. Dont squander your time or money.
You get a FEW American tv shows here but hand over up the ghost you will own watch them on DVD if you can find them. I dont keep under surveillance nearly as much tv since moving here. Think of that as a bonus since it suppose to be so bad for you.
shipping costs and electronic conversion costs(and strength costs if u wire it up wrong) would almost definitely outweigh the cost of just buying a contemporary tv in the uk!
You would own to have cable service within the UK. You can't get your local cable company in that.
Almost Always.
No.
if its a very modern multi siignal TV later it might.. but I wouldnt hld my breath. As others have already said USA & Japan use NTSC, France & its former colonines use PAL/SECAM and the rest ofhte world uses PAL.
within all honesty for the cost Id buy a TV surrounded by the UK and forget the hassle. TV';s don't cost a lot, by the time you enjoy bought a voltage converter with adequate grunt to supply a CRT based TV you would be not far bad buying a TV.
one option call for however could be to get a DVD to be exact multi format.. use the TV tuner in that device to dispatch a signal over the SCART (ooops thats a European / world standard.. not sure if you have those across t'pond).
instinctively I wouldnt take the risk for what doens't cost a large amount of cash.
British tv is broadcast contained by PAL(625 lines) Us tv is broadcast in NSTC(484 lines).
Basically thats the amount of lines that your tv have from the top of the screen to the bottom.
One have more lines than the other. Plug your TV into the wrong signal and you have a recipie for disaster
