I thought a bluff as you are refering to it is a hill. Like a rise out contained by a field, a short time ago high ample so you can't see over it, something like that.
IT'S A 'CLIFF' WHICH IS USUALLY NOT SEEN UNTIL YOU'RE VIRTUALLY ON TOP OF IT, SO TO SPEAK. THAT'S WHY IT'S ALSO CALLED A 'BLUFF' - GET THE 'GIST'??(MY DEFINITION DUE TO THE FACT THAT THERE'S ONE LIKE IT NOT TOO FAR FROM WHERE I LIVE). A 'BLUFF' IS USUALLY CLOSE BY A BODY OF WATER. THE ONE I REFER TO IS ALSO, BUT YOU REALLY DON'T KNOW IT'S ACTUALLY A VIRTUAL 'CLIFF' UNTIL YOU WALK RIGHT UP TO IT AND LOOK OVER. PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW WHAT'S THERE HAVE BEEN SURPRISED MANY TIMES.
