***construct cup floor surrounded by my house contained by uk please facilitate any regulations i must follow***?

Hi all, i want to construct a cup floor in my bathroom it will merely sit 1 foot off the soild wood floor, ive get a supplier from outside europe for the frame and glass panel however what im worried about is nearby any regulations (ie) what cert does the glass enjoy to come with & any regulation i inevitability to follow regarding the cup panel..they are made from 12mm laminated glass size 600mm*600mm and next sit on a 2mm acrylic board what if i want to sell this product will i know how to, ive tryed to purchase a floor from uk far to expensive...any help would be great im up to date to all this, ive tryed building control etc Thanks to adjectives
Answers:    You will need to seize in touch beside your local council,They will give you any suggestion that you need.

The chalice must conform to building regulations and must be of a certain thicknessas not to shatter.Contact a building merchants its massively specialist. I think the laminated chalice does meet the regulations.
I can't strictly know, but haven't you asked this Q lately, here? If so you even e mailed be about the "why" of it.

In your request for info; have you in truth gone to any of the governing bodies local to you, with good opinion to regulations?

All glass contained by a bathroom should be tempered to prevent serious injury should it come to nothing.
It should be to British Standard toughenend laminated glass. Yes it's going to be expensive, try the Pilkington website and look at trade customers article and click on the applications for glass floors - If you find the proper stuff at least you know it will work and will come near the paperwork you will need then for insurance or seller's pack.

Alternatly you could also try to find via ebay etc glass stair treads and re-cycle them into your floor section, or use perspex.

Would love to know the source if you would like to forward. You can use this - merely get a Structural Engineer to look over the Glass specification to ensure it meet UK spec.

I rang Pilkington chalice people when I looked-for to fit a large piece of chalice into a floor and be able to wander on it. They asked my max dimensions then they told me how gooey it should be and the type of glass required. They even quoted a guide price for the fabrication of it.
