Answers:    Try joining your local freecycle, it's an online community that tries to give away old/unwanted items to some extent than putting them in landfill. Go to www.freecycle.org and survey for your nearest group. You can wait til someone is offering a computer or you can put contained by a request for one.

try putting an advert on your local freecycle network.

Have you tried your local recycle centre?
If you know anyone who can walk to the local refuse site, you will be amazed at the stuff that nation just chuck out when they buy more up to date equipment, it's wrong really. If you're prepared to try stuff out, nine times out of ten theres zilch wrong with it at adjectives. I've got a 32inch flatscreen TV contained by my lounge off a skip.
freecycle.org would be of great assistance for you. May God, whoever you believe he is, be with you surrounded by your recovery process.
I own discovered freecycle.com which is great, It is people recycle all sorts of stuff, loads of computers and electronics. You might enjoy to pick it up, but well worth a pop in...good luck

eBay is a good place to try. I get my first computer for lb74. My brother recently bought two working monitors for 99p! He didn't even enjoy to pay postage because he have a car and he collected them. My brother like to build computers and he's built them for himself, me, our mum, and friends, and because he knows what he's doing it's smooth to get upgrades.
Or if you're contained by the UK maybe try a Community Furniture organisation?
